Apologies for any inconvenience, please be assured that hundreds of users register on NSR every day. We are here to help. Following are few general hygiene guidelines that may be helpful;
- NSR is a secure site and uses https transmission so you may get a system message to this effect, kindly accept it.
- Complete your NSR registration session within 15 minutes of starting each page else the session may expire for the page due to no activity.
- Use Google Chrome browser or Microsoft Edge for NSR registration.
- Use Windows computer (laptop or desktop) or Mobile Phone with Android OS.
- Do not use Apple (MAC) computers or iPhone mobiles since certain applications may not work on such devices.
- Ensure Cookies and popups are allowed on your Chrome browser. For this click on the three dots in top right corner, go to Settings Privacy and Security and Cookies and other site data to Allow cookies for your browser. Delete all cookies and temp files also in your browser.
- Disable pop up blocker so pop ups can be allowed for NSR site. To select your employer company name and to fill value for any university/colle ge not listed on NSR a pop-up window is provided.
- Check your internet connection. The site could be slow on slow connections such as mobile dial-up, cable dial-up connections.
- Note your acknowledgement number, login ID and passwords.

NSR has provided the option of indicating the name of the company which has asked you to register and also the reference number such as employee ID, Offer ID, letter reference number with such company. Filling this information correctly helps such company to take note of your NSR registration details and access your profile for its reference / background check etc.
In case you have been asked by a prospective employer company to register, select the option of "Another Company". Select the name of such company from the list of companies, if the company is not available in the list you may select the option "Other". You may indicate your Job ID or Offer ID or letter reference in the offer ID field.
The NSR system sends email to the NSR profile email id which you have provided. This email consists of your Acknowledgement Number. You are provided with a facility where based on "Acknowledgement Number" and your Log-in password, you can access your incomplete profile and complete the profile. If you have forgotten the password, you are requested to use the Forgot Login Password option to reset your password and access your NSR profile.
However, If you have forgotten your Log-in password (set-up by you) and do not have your Acknowledgement Number, you cannot access your incomplete profile. This precaution is being taken to prevent unauthorized access to your profile on NSR

Yes, even after generation of your ITPIN you can access your profile on NSR and add such details. To complete your NSR registration you need to fill-up at least the mandatory fields (marked with asterisk *).
In case your NSR registration is not yet completed then visit the Complete Your Registration section and login using your Acknowledgement Number and Login Password. After login click on Modify button to update any missing information.
If your ITPIN is generated then you can access your profile on NSR using any of the following methods from the Already Registered Access Your Profile or Login section on the NSR website:
Login using your ITPIN & Log-in Password or
Mobile Number & One Time Password based authentication, or
Email ID & One Time Password based authentication, or
PAN based login or
Login Id based login.
Kindly select the feature "My Profile - Correct errors in data ". The system will ask you to enter the One Time Password (sent to mobile number / email id set-up by you during registration) for modification in your profile data. Please note only unverified information (where background check has not been initiated / completed) can be edited.
Not to worry. You can access your profile by using "Complete your Registration" option on NSR website and entering your "Acknowledgement Number" issued by NSR system and Log-in password set-up by you to check if online payment is successful or not. If the site is prompting you to select the payment mode the payment status is unsuccessful and you need to make online payment successfully to complete your registration. If there is any issue of amount deducted from your account but status not being successful such payments will be automatically refunded in 7 days. Kindly write to us at nsr[at]nsdl[dot]co[dot]in if you have any outstanding issues concerning online payment.
In present employer company section you need to generally enter the details of the company which has informed you to get registered on NSR. The name of NSR member companies will be there in the drop down. If you are working with a non NSR member company and the name is not available in the list please write to nsr[at]nsdl[dot]co[dot]in with the details of such company name and website, if any. We will update the list and inform you.
In case a past employer company does not appear in the list also you can add such company name yourself. When you search for any company name, the last entry in the search result is "Not in List". So if you do not find your past employer company name in the search result, you may click on this entry i.e. "Not in List" and system will allow you to enter the company name by yourself in the company name box.
Email and SMS on ITPIN generation
NSR system will send you an email and SMS . Please make sure that you have entered correct email ID and Mobile number and of course, do check your mailbox.
Check registration status on NSR site
You can check the status of your ITPIN generation after submission of Offline Aadhaar/ Video KYC and payment on NSR site. This can be done using "Complete your Registration" option on NSR website and entering your "Acknowledgement Number" issued by NSR system and Log-in password set-up by you. If ITPIN is generated the system will display the same, if not it will display the message ITPIN generation is in process.
If your ITPIN is not generated within few days of completion of KYC processes and online payment please write a mail to nsr[at]nsdl[dot]co[dot]in indicating your Acknowledgement Number.
NSR Card
NSR will intimate you the ITPIN by an email which will be sent to the email id registered with NSR. You can access your profile immediately upon receipt of ITPIN using the option "Already Registered - Access your Profile" option on NSR site. You will need to enter ITPIN issued by NSR system and Login Password set-up by you while registering your profile on NSR. After Logged in you can download your eCard from Request For Generate NSR e-Card option.
Access to your NSR profile details is based on ITPIN (issued by NSR), and Log-in Password / One Time Password (OTP) (sent to your verified mobile number / email id). These are important information and should be kept safely and also handy. NSR provides following facilities to help you retrieve these details
Visit NSR Website https://nationalskillsregistry.com and click on the link for "Access your Profile" and select the option required as per details below
Forgot ITPIN
Click on Forgot ITPIN link and provide either of the following information to search your ITPIN
- Acknowledgement Number (Generated by NSR website on doing web-registration) or
- Combination of your Mother's maiden name and your date of birth as recorded on NSR
If the information entered matches with an active ITPIN, the system will show the ITPIN and the Name. Take note of the same.
Forgot Log-in ID
Click on Forgot Log-in ID link and provide your ITPIN and Date of Birth information and click on submit button. If the information entered matches with your profile, the system will send an email to your registered email ID informing the Log-in ID. You can access your registered email ID and find-out your Log-in ID for your use.
In case you are not sure about which email ID is registered in your NSR profile or you do not have access to such email ID (due to change in job etc.) you can request for sending a copy of Log-in ID information mail to any other email ID also. In this case, in addition to the above details you will need to provide Mother's maiden name also and details of the new email ID. The email will be sent to both your registered email ID and new email ID provided by you in Alternate email ID section.
Forgot Log-in Password and email Id / mobile number was not verified
In NSR system clear text passwords are not stored and hence it is not possible to send you the password as recorded by you earlier, therefore the system facilitates you to set-up a new password for your use.
Click on Forgot Password link and provide your ITPIN and Log-in ID information and click on submit button. If this is correct, the system will display the next page which will offer you two methods for creating a new password for you:
Enter your ITPIN and Login Id and then set up a new Login Password for your profile. The system will send to you a Password Change Request (PCR) number at your profile email id and any permitted email id as specified by you while raising the request. You need to then click on Reactivation of Password link or the reactivation link provided in email itself and enter your ITPIN, Request Number (PCR) and new login password correctly to activate the same.
In case your NSR email ID has changed since the time you registered and is not accessible now, an additional facility of sending this mail to an alternate and currently used Email ID is provided. To avail the same select provide the alternate email ID as well. The email will be sent both on your registered as well as alternate email ID.
If the email is not received on your email id, you may write a mail to nsr[at]nsdl[dot]co[dot]in indicating your ITPIN number. You can also contact the NSR Helpdesk team No. +91-9967582731 / +91-7304076625 / +91-7710968648
You can access your profile on NSR with multiple options like using your ITPIN, and Log-in Password, Mobile Number One Time Password based authentication, Email Id One Time Password based authentication, PAN based login or Login Id based login. Select the feature "Update Contact details" in My Profile for any changes in these details. The system will display your already registered number and email ID and the option to change the Mobile number and Email ID , you need to enter your changed Mobile number and the OTP for mobile verification and changed Email ID and Click the link sent on Email for Email Verification and then click on Submit to update your record. So hence forth you will get all the notifications, communications on the updated contact details.
You can access your profile on NSR using your ITPIN, and Log-in Password, Mobile Number One Time Password based authentication, Email Id One Time Password based authentication, PAN based login or Login Id based login. Once you are logged in successfully select the feature "Change Key Fields of NSR Profile" in My Profile.
The system will ask you to enter the One Time Password (sent to mobile number / email id set-up by you during registration) for modification in your profile data.
You need to tick the appropriate fields that needs to be updated Name/ Date of Birth/ Gender/ KP Photo/ PAN Number/ Pan Card Image Then make the required changes and upload your updated PAN card which contains your correct details.
